New Build Backyard Done Right - Paver Patio, Pergola, and Full Landscape Install

New builds have a way of sitting unfinished for months after move-in. The house looks great, but the yard is still bare dirt, the back door opens onto nothing, and every time you look outside you're reminded of what's still left to do. That's exactly the kind of situation we love stepping into.

For this one, we came in and handled everything from the ground up. The centerpiece is a raised paver patio with a clean stacked-block retaining wall and concrete steps leading down to the lawn. A sleek dark-framed pergola sits right over the seating area, giving the space structure and shade without making it feel closed in. The pavers themselves have that classic large-format look - substantial, polished, and built to last.

Out front, we installed a paver border bed edging with black mulch and a layered planting mix - ornamental grasses, flowering alliums, low shrubs. The kind of foundation planting that looks intentional right away and fills in even better over time. That's the goal with new construction installs: get it looking great on day one so you're not staring at an empty yard for years waiting for things to grow.

When everything gets done together - patio, pergola, sod, planting beds, irrigation - it all ties in cleanly. The yard feels like it belongs with the house instead of something that was added as an afterthought.
